I’ve got a question… I recently got a female friend into it and the main thrust of my plug was that this is pretty much the most realistic depiction of Asian Americans I’ve seen (and realistic depiction of guys in general) – especially the dialogue. The constant and unnecessary swearing, the talks about girls, etc., the fact that a lot of the characters don’t sound scripted.

Anyway, so my friend, who lived in Japan for a couple of years, immediately pointed out something she felt cut hard against the realism. Esther and Sarah are way too hot for it to have been that easy for John and Rob. I mean, it’s plausible, but most guys would have to work their asses off to get girls that cute unless you’re Abe Hiroshi or even Jun Kim.

I’m just wondering if you guys considered casting non-models in their roles since you cast non-models for the guys. Was that a convo you had or no? Cause it seems like you paid loads of attention to other details.

Anyway, great work. I’m looking forward to Ep. 8.
