This past Saturday, I did a set with Kevin Shea and a gaggle of other comedians at the M Bar. I get there a little early because I hate being late to things. I see Kevin and he is with Jim Jeffries. I am sure most of you dont know who he is, but this guy is a monster on stage. You can call his material a little dirty or crass but I think its magically. Yes, I said it. Jim is a comedian from Australia.
So while the other comics are on stage bombing, Kevin, Jim, and I are in the back just shooting the shit. Even the host is pretty much stinking up the joint. He would forget certain comedians names and the intros are just plain terrible. We soon find out that out of the 60 or so people in the audience, most of them are lesbian.
So Kevin points out that we (Kevin, Jim, and I) are pretty misogynistic and we are gonna die on stage tonite. We figured it would be cool to see who would offend the crowd the most. So I go first and to my surprise, the lesbians are not hating me. They are actually laughing. I was not happy with this because will I wanted to offend the shit out of these broads. So after my set, I get a pretty good response and then up next is Jim. Jim was already pretty drunk and he starts calling everyone cunts. Its the perfect word to say for a room full of lesbians. Good job Jim! Then he tells the best lesbian joke I have ever heard. He said, “If you cunts hate men so much, why do you look like them?” As you can expect, the room was dead silent except me and Kevin. Both of us were in the back just laughing our heads off! He starts shitting on everyone from women to God and Christianity. He pretty much made sure everyone hated him.
So Kevin was headlining and he was next. Well I guess everyone else had enough and just turned on Him. He was damn funny but I guess at this point the lesbians wanted to kill someone. Jim and I were outside chain smoking just talking about how is it possible that Kevin Shea can draw a room full of lesbians as his fan base.
